Who: speakswithbirds and maraihi What: Truant chef returns to the job he never knew he had When: Sometime in the afternoon Where: Class Act Warnings: None?
Much as Kagetsuya wasn't expecting anything, Maraich wasn't expecting to find his former cook sitting in the cafe. He went about his business as usual, hosting, greeting customers, sitting people, on the rare occasion bringing out food himself...
He was going about his daily business when he went to greet Kagetsuya and immediately recognized the runaway cook.
"Kagetsuya!" His tone was immediately harsh, scolding, "What are you doing out here?! You're supposed to be in the kitchen!"
Kagetsuya couldn't help but jump a little at the sound of his name. But...no one knew him here! He turned toward the person, blinking owlishly for a moment before regaining some semblance of calm.
"Excuse me, but I'm sure I don't know know what you mean," he said as politely as he could. "I'm sure I've never met you before..."
No, Maraich was sure it was Kagetsuya. He remembered his face.
"What are you talking about? If you're going to quit you can at least submit a resignation, not just walk off the job! You know how long we were looking for you?!"
Kagetsuya blinked, his expression bland. "Honestly, I don't know what you're talki- ...oh, is that it, perhaps?" He paused, remembering that, according to Chihaya, he had been on this ship before. So he had a job as a cook, did he? That didn't seem too bad... if only he could remember it!
"I'm sorry, I really don't remember you. A...someone I know told me I was here before, but I don't remember anything from that, unfortunately. I...presume I knew you then, though. I apologize for any inconvenience I must have caused, but I'm sure it was through no choice of my own."
