Who: 11ady and count_to_peace (Any roommates are also free to stumble in)
What: Label peeling, idle chatter and mutual antagonism
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Room 3-27
Warnings: There's a crate of apples in the room?

As long as she was peeling labels off apples, she wouldn't be tempted to wrap her hands around Zechs's neck and break his windpipe for anything inflammatory he might say. )

If only Une's sharp tongue was as occupied as her hands, they would be in business. Their rivalry was bitter yet amiable. He took up an apple and looked over it. Quite ripe and red, almost good enough to sink one's teeth into.

"I was thinking of something original..." The apple was placed back into the crate with its brethren, surviving another day. The inevitable would come for it.

It was a good thing she was unaware of the exact nature of his thoughts. Despite the fact that she had always outranked him, her inferiority complex was still a persistent evil. Zechs had always been better, always more useful. She knew that envy had no place in Preventer so she banished it as best she could. Still, she was only human. Those feelings of annoyance would still sometimes manifest.

Especially now.

It was plain to see that Zechs was easily of more use to injured Noin than Une was. And with these upcoming nuptials...

Damn it. She had to clear her head. She dropped an apple and inwardly cursed, rushing to pick it up and clawing at this particular label with renewed vigor.

She really had to cast this self-doubt aside. This wasn't about her. She refused to let her sense of failure ruin things for them.

"Something of the Earth Sphere?" she suggested.

Une dropping an apple was unlike her. There must be something else on her mind if she can't even keep track of just one apple. Acting as if he didn't notice was best, for now.

"Yes. I was thinking of getting the bands made. Perhaps scrap material from our suits." He folded his arms, still thinking. "It will take some planning, and I'd need to keep it a surprise..." Zechs looked visibly unhappy about that last part. The trust he and Noin had between each other was precious to him. There was very little Noin didn't know of him, and vice versa.

She kept up her work, not making eye contact. To appear transparent would be a grave mistake. She did, however, allow herself a small smile to hide her distress.

"Sounds like a plan. Tallgeese III and the Taurus? That would be neo-titanium. Difficult to mold. You'd need someone skilled in metallurgy."

She paused to contemplate, idly running her fingers off the label-free apple in her grasp.

"I know you don't like hiding things from Noin. If you'd like, I can take on that responsibility."

"It wouldn't relieve me of anything even if you took on some of the responsibility," he replied, watching her work. "I'd need to start searching for someone who may have that ability. There seems to be a large number of refugees, so I may just get lucky."

He let that last part hang in the air before chuckling. Zechs was fully aware of how lucky he could be.
