Who: Envy as Nagi, then himself (
flightlessprey/
virulentfacade) and Genkaku (
prayforprey)
What: Genkaku's finally agreed to meet with Nagi.
When: Today at noon.
Where: An empty cabin on the third floor.
Warnings: MIND-FUCKERY. 8)
The cabin, as promised, was empty. The man within it had been waiting longer than the time that had been agreed upon to ensure that he was the first one there. If the monk tried to send anyone early to hide away, his efforts would be discovered. This had to be perfect. Everything had to be perfect. So far things were going well--better than he could have hoped for. It was hard enough to refrain from the revelation already and it would be harder when his little visitor arrived.
The entire ordeal had been practiced for a week before coming into play. Words, mannerisms, voice tone, expressions, movements. Everything. Everything. Never had he gone so out of his way before to make certain that an act was as perfect as it could be. There were things he didn't know--couldn't know. With having seen only fractions of those memories, it left more holes to be filled than he would have liked. But it had proven to all be enough for this. It didn't matter if the monk was the only one in the entire world who was fooled, because he was the only one the homunculus wanted to break.
It was revenge. It was making Envy's heart beat faster beneath the borrowed appearance. This sort of revenge was something he'd been waiting for for months, but it had seemed like years. After that fucking pig had discovered things he shouldn't have, he'd used it all against Envy. Then, like a blind fool, he had never expected that pain to be returned. Killing him would be pointless because he'd only come back. The suffering wouldn't be there. But this? This emotional pain? That would last forever.
In all his four centuries of life (and, he noted, the day he'd been born on was the very next day), this was his best act yet. And so he remained waiting on the couch in that empty room in the small and empty cabin. It was nearly noon now, and purple eyes (purple, not violet) glanced toward the door in anticipation. Would he show, or would he need to be hunted like the pig that he was?
