T Par Tay (Open Log!)
Who: Aphrodite (cyprian_swan), Polly (curious_copycat), and everyone and anyone else!
What: It's been a year since Polly set foot on the Thor, and she wants to celebrate! Mix, mingle and have fun!
When: Oct 5th! (but late tags are welcome)
Where: One of the Thor's gardens.
Warnings: Beware of flying armadillos, and don't step on the mome raths.
Polly tugged a little self-consciously at the blue dress she wore, oddly nervous. Had Alice not been off exploring the garden, she probably would've been holding the little non-fox for the simple comfort of it.
The girl wandered along the refreshment table, making sure everything was there that should be. Several varieties of tea, cakes, biscuits, pies, fruit, fancy cheeses, several Xingese dishes Ran Fan had addicted her to, hamburgers, onion rings, and innumerable other things she's tried since her arrival on the ship a year ago, today.
A few dozen smaller tables resembling enormous flowers with smaller toadstools for chairs (picked out with Aphrodite's help) were strewn along the little creek with its bright koi fish, and a broad meadow had been set up with what she had been assured was a state-of-the-art croquet set. She had never played the game, before, so it did not occur to her that it might be strange for the wickets to have eyes or move ("The finest mome raths!" the man had said), and that the mallets, probably shouldn't be lime green, or quite so feathered. The balls looked suspiciously like multicolored armadillos. She'd payed good credits for them, though, so she could only assume they'd behave.
To another side, twinkling lights designed to look like butterflies had been wound around several trees to mark the boundaries of a dance floor, and speakers had been set up for music.
Flipping open her guide, Polly checks the time. She would be opening the doors soon, and she hoped everyone would have a good time!
