Arietta wasn't the biggest fan of reading itself - it was more Hakkai she liked. He was always so nice and encouraging - and it reminded her of when she was with Ion. Ion had taught her to read and write, too, and always watched her and smiled at her when she did well. That enough brought a feeling of warmth into her heart. Reading with Hakkai wasn't the same - but she still liked it.

Arietta toddled into the classroom soon after, ready. She was going to read the hardest book, to make Hakkai proud! And... Ion, too. (If she ever saw him again)

"Hakkai."

And that was her greeting.

"Hello, Arietta," Hakkai responded, smiling softly. He stood from where he'd seated himself at his desk, pushing aside some hastily scribbled lesson plans for later, and picked up the books he'd brought with him. "How are you today?" he asked pleasantly as he made his way to the round table in the back of the classroom, where they could easily sit side-by-side while Arietta read.

She nodded to him, heading over to where he was sitting.

"Um... I-I'm okay..." Her social etiquette knowledge was still very lacking, but she at least knew asking him in return was what she was supposed to do. "How is Hakkai?"

She adopted a determined expression - totally prepared for the challenge.

"I'm well, thank you for asking. Would you like to begin?" No sense in beating around the bush, especially as he knew Arietta really wasn't one for small-talk. He placed the three books he'd brought on the table, lining them up in front of her. "I thought you might like these three. We can start with whichever one you like."

[ooc: l-lol, I figure you've got a better idea of her reading ability than I do. Wanna pick some titles? 8);;]

[HMMM I'm thinking. Well, one can be the Little Prince 8D]!!

She nodded intently, then drifted over the books. They looked long - but that was fine, because this was a challenge she'd win!

She took one in her hands and held it out to Hakkai to approve. "The Little Prince".
