plagiarized Doctor Who fanart on Etsy
Hi all,
I don't know if this is outside the purview of this comm, but I seem to have found some plagiarized Doctor Who fanart on etsy, and my flisters suggested I post about it here. I look at a lot of fanart, and while browsing Doctor Who themed merch on etsy, I noticed the following drawings look an awful lot like other drawings I've seen in the past.
This piece of fanart by viria13 @ deviantart appears to have been traced and turned into this listing for sale by missmaggiegrace.
Additionally, missmaggiegrace has another piece for sale where the female character, Rose, appears to be traced from this piece by chaaar @ deviantart. I don't recognize the drawing of male character (the Ninth Doctor).
I suppose it could be that they're the same person with two different deviantart accounts in two different art styles that claim to be in different countries, or they got permission from both artists, but if not, copying someone's art and then selling it is really gross. (Especially since the description for these two pieces say "My geek supporters keep me going, and I appreciate you all.")
Before it was suggested I post here, I messaged both the artists on deviantart, providing them with the links, and checking to see if they were the same person. I have not heard back from either yet. I have also screencapped the listings and the original art.
