[... Married? Nanashii stared at the message for a long moment. That made no sense...]
[Just because of a piece of jewelry he still wasn't sure why he'd put on. Perhaps it was partially because he was starting to change? To trust people?]
[No, it had to be some sort of trick this time. For that reason alone his eyes narrowed slightly as he looked around for the culprit as he almost absently tried to remove the bracelet.]
[Despite the years she'd spent being pathologically shy, the silence started to get to her. After starting school she'd gotten so used to being around loud people (ie. Rin) that being around another quiet person was... really quiet.]
[She frowns a little, because this is a rather big mistake to make. She takes out the note she'd received and starts looking at it again, trying to find something that she'd missed.]
[He didn't have anything to add to that, so he simply turned to start exploring the new apartment. He had no intention of actually staying there, but...]
[Shiemi stays where she is for a moment, green eyes scanning the note. And then she reaches some heavily technical language that doesn't really make sense to her.]
Um...
[She quickly brings the note over to the tall boy and points at the passage.]
Do you know what that means?
[ooc: it's the bit about how they've apparently already paid for this and if they don't stay for the duration of the trial the guards will drag them back, just in nice polite legal jargon]
[Nanashii half turned at the question, then took the note to read over. His frown deepened just a little, making it more obvious to those unused to his expressions.]
They claim we paid for this.
[Even though he knew nothing had left his account that he hadn't removed himself.]
[She frowns a little as she considers this, and then she tries to take the bracelet off, as to her that represented her acceptance of this... very strange prize.]
[But it wouldn't come off.]
[So she tugged a little harder, and a little harder, but still it wouldn't come off.]
Um... this...
[Then, as she's pulling as hard as she can, it shocks her.]

[Wait. Did that mean?]
[She slowly turns hear head to look at the other person in the room, her eyes wide.]

[What did he even know about marriage? Not much. But the pair were supposed to be able to trust each other, right? He didn't.]

Um. I don't remember entering a contest....

[He gave the bracelet another firm tug before leaving it alone for the time being. He'd try using his tools later.]
I know I did not.

I don't intend to just stay here.

[She sighs.]
I don't want to take someone else's prize away from them. It wouldn't be fair.

[He stepped away from her and set the note on a table before moving on again. She was a stranger. An unknown.]

So we're stuck until paperwork is processed, if that's how it works.
[Nope, tools wouldn't work this time. That was... not a good thing, in his mind.]
[A bit belated, but again, stranger. And the situation was more than a little... awkward.]
... You alright?

[there's a fearful tone in her voice and she's holding the wrist with the bracelet on it off to the side, as far from the rest of her as she can]

I don't see any damage, but let's get you something for the pain. If you want it.
