[She may be in a very dignified dress, but the little childish innocence that still rests in her heart seems to be bubbling out.

She's nudged one of her shoes off, and the skirt is pulled up several inches so she can dip her toes in the water. There's a lightness to the way she carries herself, and a little ghost of a smile seems to be just about to bloom on her lips.]

[Dressed as she is, Atem doesn't even recognize her. He's also trying not to spoil the fun that she seems to be having as he moves a little away. But with restlessness comes the need of something to do so a few flat and smooth stones are picked up and tossed.

Seems like he's very good at skipping them. Who knew? He hasn't quite breathed in those silly flowers yet.]

[She glances over, stepping back from the water...

And she recognizes him. It's potentially awkward, but she won't let her composure drop. Fortunately, she can sound really girly if she tries.]

I used to do that when I was a child.

[If she lingers he'll get it eventually, but for now he still has no idea who she is. Wardrobe and tone change put together with a mask can be very convincing at first.]

Are you any good at it? [He offers one to her.]

[It would likely seem more like a twin, unless she lets her guard down... Still, if she's this relaxed, it's entirely possible she'll be outed at some point.]

I am good at it, yes. [And she takes the stone, gently holding one of the sleeves back before casting the rock quite expertly across the water.

One, two, three skips.]

...It's been so long since I last did that.

[Atem's a pretty perceptive person but right now she just seems vaguely familiar if anything. It's not enough to raise suspicion.

And he watches her with a light smile.] Seems like it's easily recalled. [He tosses one of his own. Three skips, just like hers.]

I think the things we learn as children are the hardest to lose.

[And she reaches down to scoop another stone up, looking at it fondly before sending it across the water, too. She's smiling just a little, but it's bittersweet.]

Yet the easiest to push away. [He watches her, unable to help himself at this point. He doesn't really know her (OR DOES HE) so he doesn't feel comfortable asking if everything is alright with that smile she's giving. Instead he just sends another stone out to water after hers.]

Some of them, sometimes. [It's funny. She's too happy to be melancholy. She feels lovely, joyfully at peace.]

And this lake is beautiful. I can hardly believe we're on the ship, still.

It does a very convincing job. [NO FLOWERS YOU CANNOT OVERPOWER THE PESSIMISTIC SIDE. But he's not trying to ruin anyone's night so he tries to remedy this statement.] It's hard to believe some times that things like that are always within reach.

There are things here that I couldn't have even seen in my time. There's something comforting in that. I wonder what it would be like if things hadn't changed. I don't think happiness like this would have been so simple to attain.

I know the feeling. [None of this technology, space, etc. in his personal time line would he have ever known.] If nothing else this place gives us the chance for a new understanding of life.

I agree. I think I've learned many things here, as well. Even if we're opposed, everyone is working hard enough to get their lives back to what they were. The employment mistakes are actually amusing...

[She can't seem to find a stone she likes, so she crouches down to search.]

Or to find a new purpose altogether. [He watches. ...this.. he's quite unsure about it, flipping a smaller stone idly between his fingers as he thinks.]

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but have we met? [He has to ask.]

[Optimism is a pretty new thing for her, but she'll try!]

[He looks away with a light smirk before his eyes close and he tosses the stone towards the water. An impressive seven skips this time.]

A ship full of people. My apologies. [He thinks she's calling him dumb or something, for good reason because even with that hair odds are people blur together after a while if you're not paying attention.]
