[She may be in a very dignified dress, but the little childish innocence that still rests in her heart seems to be bubbling out.

She's nudged one of her shoes off, and the skirt is pulled up several inches so she can dip her toes in the water. There's a lightness to the way she carries herself, and a little ghost of a smile seems to be just about to bloom on her lips.]

[Ah, how long has it been? When did her mother scold her for getting those new shoes dirty and finally make her stop playing games with the neighborhood boys? She was always a girly girl, but it was boring to just sit around and sew and cook.

She tries again. Five skips. How unsatisfactory...]

I don't always remember faces that well, even if we have met.

[After that crap down on the planet and ... well, being a Pharaoh and the King of Games, it's almost entirely refreshing for someone to not know who he is. Even if they've only met in passing. It should irk him that he wasn't able to make an impression on someone, if only even for a second but it just... doesn't.]

It's entirely probable that we haven't. In which case, [He turns to her slightly.] My name is Atem.

[A bit of a dilemma, here. He already knows her pseudonym, so it isn't as though she could give that. What is the wisest course? Surely she doesn't want anyone to know her real name unless she specifically grants it to them...

She moves to extend a hand, then thinks better of it and nods her head in greeting. She's smiling, though.] Maria.

[A smile is offered in return. He knows it's quite likely that unless he gets her to remove her mask he won't be able to locate her again. Maybe on the network by voice alone but... it doesn't bother him either way.]

Maria. [Echoed before he throws another stone skillfully. TEN SKIPS.]

[Oh, totally outclassed. She isn't sure why she's so happy, but she looks quite fondly out over the water.]

I have no reason to be either. [A light chuckle as he follows her gaze.]

I have but not nearly enough to be skilled at it. [When he was younger rarely, maybe at the Nile. He was oddly skilled at it then too. HM.]

[She laughs very softly.] And I worked for many years to be that good. Being a child was rigorous.

Apparently yours is skipping rocks across a lake. I wonder what mine might be.

Mostly useless. [He laughs, yeah, getting some of that good joy flower in his system finally.] I'm sure yours will be more helpful.

That is something like cheating... But I see your point. I could do almost anything I want, now. Everything I was is gone, so it's a clean start. I'm thrilled.
