Thanks for the link to the Progressive Campaign Web site. I've been stewing since watching the amendment pass (*ptoooi!*) on C-Span Saturday.

The problem with living in a state that's so blue that you can see it radiate from space is that my Congressmen (Ed Markey, but Barney Frank is in the congressional district next door) and my Senator (Kerry only at the moment) pretty much vote the way I'd want them to 99% of the time.

Okay, okay. It's actually good for me, but kind of difficult if you're trying to change votes/hearts/minds since you can't actually call congressmen and senators from other states to bitch them out.

I signed the letter and threw some money in the kitty for lobbying against the amendment.

I also feel stupid because I should have considered checking the Act Blue Web site. *facepalm*

I called my Congressman (red as they come, like, Oklahoma and Utah almost look like gay activists red) and told him, politely, that I really wish he would reconsider voting down the health care bill. Later, when my voice is back, I'll be calling the dreaded Kay Bailey Hutchinson to tell her the same thing. Who knows if it'll do any good, but I'll feel better.

I've been impressed with the Progressives Campaign - it's small and it supports just about every ideal I have re: politics, too.

SLC is where the non-Mormons live. ;) Also, you'll note that it's not FOR gay marriage, just not denying gays where they can live. Mormons love to say how they love gays, they just can't support the sin. Be gay, but don't do anything about it, you see. *eye roll*

Ah, Vegas. It's been some years since I've been there, but I'd love to go back. There's really no place on earth quite like it.

I'll have to dedicate a post to all of the crazy shit I've seen happen in Las Vegas over the years.

There have been a lot of tear downs and build ups since I was last there, but Vegas is still Vegas. (And now that it's not so kid friendly anymore, WHEW. Nothing is weirder than seeing kids in a casino. Mom? Dad? Hire a sitter.)

I'm not gone until the first weekend of December, so I'm sure there will be loads of build up before then, lol.
