Something that really bothers me is the constant, low-level sexism and objectification that goes on daily everywhere, and how since it's not like you can police people's thoughts, you are treated as if you're over-reacting if you find it offensive and upsetting

I don't think you're over-reacting at all. I think this is a brilliant post actually.

I don't think you are over-reacting, I think the fact that people think this is acceptable behaviour is a symptom of lack of respect some parts of society have for women and that to me is incredibly worrying.
