Here,here! I agree. I don't need Dean/Cas to be canon. I always hate writing in canon because I feel these two characters would never get together in real life. Both of them have huge trust issues, relationship issues, and are just pretty fucked up "people" in general. If they did have a more sexual relationship, it would go down in flames, taking the Eastern seaboard with it. That's major.

I also don't want it to be canon because it's none of the show's business. Dean/Cas Sam/Gabe, Wincest, Wincestiel etc all belong to us. We made them, brought them to life. If they can be down on fanfic, then we can be down on their appropriation of it. DeanCas is our Baby.

I don't completely agree with that they wouldn't work, I think they would to an extent, I just don't want it to happen yet. I do indeed see your point though. They are awfully broken to be together at this stage. If the writers ease into the transition I'd be happy with it but I don't want that final stage until the absolute last minute, like I said.

Though I do agree, I'm not sure if the writers could play in our slashy paradise sandbox and make us happy. Out of them all, Carver has the best shot at it, but it would almost feel like fan-service. If Carver does do it, I hope he keeps it for the end and just gets Dean and Cas back on even ground first, like how magical they were in 5.03 - Free to be you and me.
