Summary: Roger goes out to meet someone for drinks, but is waylaid by the half coherent mutterings of an upset female. In French. He doesn't even know French.

Roger hustled down the street. Tonight he’d actually caved in and put on a jacket. He zipped it up now, and shoved his hands in the pockets of his jeans. It was approaching the end of November, after all.
He’d only just received an owl from Mandy asking him to come down and join her for drinks to blow off some post- job-interview steam, and so he was headed for the 5 Alarm. Should be fun. He was always looking for another distraction, he thought as he sidestepped to allow a couple to pass him on the pavement. He hunched his shoulders slightly and as he got closer to the pub, he saw the sulky woman open the heavy beveled door and walk out with a bottle of wine that was swinging by its neck with her arm as she stalked tetchily in his general direction.
Not that she’d have ever been hard to miss. He started to greet her, but she didn’t look…approachable, tonight. Perhaps it was best if Roger kept his head down and spoke to her tomorrow.
No such luck. He froze as she noticed him, heart pounding irrationally. Whomever she was mad at, he did not envy the poor bloke.
