Zach grinned widely when the owl swooped in through his window. He knew at once by the owl it was Mandy's and he hastily untied it from the owl's leg before going to his cabinet for a treat to feed him.

He sat down and read the note, his chest aching a bit. The familiar script flowed across the page and he read it through twice, missing her more with each word.

Zach had spent the afternoon with Wayne and the evening with Roger and Hermione. He fallen into bed as soon as he finished his shower, tucking Mandy's note under the pillow, still warmed that he'd heard from her.

He certainly wasn't expecting a second owl.

The pecking at the window woke him up, early. Crawling out of bed, he went to let it in, unable to think who'd be sending him an owl this early in the morning.

He smiled when he saw who it was from.

Getting back in bed, he read the letter, wishing he was closer to her so he could make her feel better.

He wrote her back at once.
