Charlie was out on his regular morning constitutional when he spotted Roger Davies on the road ahead of him. He trotted up to him and greeted him with a friendly wave. "Oi, Davies! Good to see ya."

Roger looked up when he heard the voice behind him, breaking his focus for the moment. He turned back and grinned at the welcome distraction; Charlie was behind him and catching him up. He knew Charlie in passing; had seen him around town and even knew him a bit from Hogwarts and Quidditch circles, though they'd been years apart.

"Hey, Charlie," he said, lifting a hand as he fell into step with the other man. Charlie was such an outgoing sort -- somewhat like he'd used to be, a long time ago. "Good to see you, too. Been a while, though; how are you?"

"Me? Eh, I'm alright," Charlie said, slowing down and catching his breath. "Been better though. Of course," he started to smile, "also been a lot worse too. Right now, the biggest worry is trying to find a new job. Been working at the Inn but now Wayne's looking into something new."

[shh_roger]

"Well, I guess most of us could be a lot worse," he agreed. "And, as far as worries go, that one's not so bad. I think nearly everyone has had the same worry since the end of the war."

He nodded as Charlie brought up Wayne's change in projects. "Yeah, I spoke to Wayne recently; he's opening a community centre here and I'll be handling the renovations. What sort of work were you doing for Wayne before?"
