Roger bent at the waist, resting his hands on his knees and tilting his head upward as he caught his breath. He'd been running full out since he'd left his house at around half-five. It wasn't often that he missed a chance to do this; he found it a great way to energize and get his blood moving. Arguably, he didn't need the exercise, as his job was strenuous enough, but it was habit, and there was comfort in that. Plus, it gave him time to think, and a bit of solitude when he could just shut everything out and focus on nothing but the air and the sound of his trainers on the ground.
It was times like this he was glad for Quidditch training, regardless of the way he felt about the game now. He'd likely not have picked up running at all if it weren't for the training sessions he'd had with the Kestrels and his Captain's willingness to incorporate Muggle conventions into some of their training routines. As it was, running was the only thing in all that time that had really stuck with him through today.
He straightened, catching his left ankle behind him and stretching a bit as he headed off again, this time at a steady trot. It was still a while before he'd need to head back to shower and change for work, so as he headed along South Street, he paced himself. He had a long day ahead of him, and he intended to enjoy the time before it started.
