Rodolphus had spent the last hour painting. In anticipation of his brother fixing up the home that was rather close to the river and giving him space to have a gallery, he wished to have some pieces to hang in the windows and such. Even if he didn't sell them, it would be nice to have some on display. Although he had quite a bit of fun with sketching, it was better to have paintings out for people to see. Sketches were often considered to be half-done artwork unless they were colored, after all.
He stared at the canvas in front of him. It was a fairly large one, bigger than he usually used, but he had wanted to do a full landscape of the river for a while. Rodolphus was currently finishing off the arduous task of painting the many leaves on the trees he had finished, and his hands were spattered with many different colors of paint. He was adding the last touches to the final tree when he heard the sound of something running through the area surrounding him. He looked up curiously, wondering just what kind of creature was out in the daylight.
