It was another warmish spring day, clouds sometimes obscuring the sun, but with intermittent periods of sunshine. Cedric had spent more time at the cinema, just chatting with Katie, and then out walking around to enjoy the weather, so that it had been nearly three before he'd returned to work, and he'd been in late that morning, as well.

As a result, he was working late and didn't leave the museum until the sun was setting. He'd taken his broom into work that morning, just because, so he took it up now for a fly around the town where he could look down as the last orange stained the sky and the evening lamps were lit.

For a moment, he thought he was imagining it, but no, there were lights in the windows of the library.

Blaise must be back. Assuming he'd ever actually been gone.

Remembering what he'd read in the paper, and also that he'd just said last night that he wanted to talk to Blaise about the possibility of some sort of summer arts fest, he angled his broom down and headed for the library. Getting off, he repositioned ( ... )

Blaise put his finished list back into the inside pocket of his suit jacket. Tomorrow he would start looking around for someone to complete the repairs and the new internal walls. Once that was done Terry could start work on the enlarging charms and Roger could bring the new furniture in. He was intent on getting the library up and running by the end of April.

He charmed his cup clean and put it away with the flask of coffee, before turning back to the library and the three piles of furniture he had made. He was about to start breaking up what items were too damaged to be of much use to anyone when a knock came from outside.

Blaise rose his eyebrow and called out a hello to whoever was there, drawing his wand and stepping somewhere partially shadowed just in case. When he saw who it was though he moved forward and held out his hand, a slightly grateful smile tugging at his lips at the prospect of company.

"Blaise -- it is you." Cedric accepted the man's hand. "I haven't seen you since the painting, but I noticed the lamps on in the library and was hoping you might be working late."

Cedric peered in. "Wow -- it looks a good bit different. Coming along. How are you?"

Blaise forced a smile and nodded. “I somehow doubt that there would be many others wanting to spend their nights in this place at the moment. There isn’t even anything to read here anymore. Come in.”

He stepped back to let the other man in, considering how long ago the painting day felt given all the had happened following it. “It’s getting somewhere at last, but there’s still a lot to do. I need to find a builder for some of the work and everything else is going to be held up until that’s done.”

He paused for a moment before answering Cedric’s other question, swallowing down on the more trueful answer. He wasn’t sure what Hermione might have told Cedric. He’d asked her to let him know he’d be gone, but he had a feeling she’d ere on the side of caution when it came to the reason. “Okay,” he answered carefully. “Glad to be back. How are you?”
