Eleanor had a few hours between class and work. Usually she went home to get some homework or cleaning done, but right now she had something more pressing on her mind. What exactly did one wear to a birthday party at a nightclub? Especially when one was going to said birthday party with a bloke that she found she kind of liked the idea of dressing up for.

A poke through her wardrobe told her that she wasn’t going to find anything appropriate in there. She was going to Exeter to find something, and if she didn’t find anything today, she’d just have to go back the next day. Luckily she didn’t have to look long to find a shop with mannequins wearing dresses in the window.

Eleanor entered the shop feeling a bit nervous. She hated shopping. Especially in places where the shop clerks nearly pounced on you the minute you walked through the door, as this one was about to do.

“Good morning, luv. Can I help you find anything?” the smiling brunette asked.

“Er, yes. I’m looking for a dress to wear to a birthday party. It’s being held at a nightclub. I’m afraid I’ve no clue what I am looking for,” Eleanor admitted.

“Ohhhh, a nightclub! How fun! One here in Exeter? If you tell me the name of the place that should help me to know what you will need.”

“Uh, no, not here in Exeter, actually. It’s in London, and I’ve never been there. I can’t even remember the name of the place off the top of my head, actually,” Eleanor lied.

“That’s a shame, but I’m sure we can figure something out,” the shop girl told her, leading her to a rack full of dresses. She pulled one off and showed it to Eleanor. “This one would look nice with your figure and colouring.”

Eleanor eyed the dress for a moment. Actually, it was kind of pretty. It was dressy, but not flashy or tarty. It looked tasteful.

“You can try it on, if you’d like,” the shop clerk told her. Eleanor nodded and let the woman lead her to the changing rooms.

Once she looked into the mirror, she began to have second thoughts. It showed off a bit more of her figure than she liked, and the top didn’t completely cover her bra. “Er, I don’t know about this one,” she called to the shop clerk on the other side of the changing room.

“Well let’s see it then,” the shop clerk told her.

With a deep breath, Eleanor opened the door and stood in front of the woman. “Nonsense, it looks brilliant. You’ll have to wear a different bra, of course.”

Eleanor looked down at her chest. All of her bras looked exactly like this one. “D-do you sell those here?” she asked worriedly.

“Course we do! You go get changed and we’ll find one you can wear with that dress,” the shop girl told her enthusiastically.

Eleanor did as she was told, and then followed the woman to a table full of undergarments that looked much fancier than any she owned. The shop clerk picked up a maroon bra that did not look as if it had been designed to lift and separate. It was made of sheer material with a small floral design, and barely looked like it would cover her nipples, let alone peek through the top of the dress.

“This one matches the color of the dress. And look, matching knickers!” the shop girl said.

Eleanor gaped. She had known that they sold knickers without a proper backside, but she had never actually owned a pair. “Er…”

“They’ll drive the blokes wild,” the shop girl told her with a wink.

She thought about it for a moment. She wasn’t planning on letting him anytime soon, but eventually Ernie might want to see her knickers. And when that time came it might be nice to have something that drove him… wild. “I’ll take them.”
