Cedric just stood at the end of the pavement leading up to the museum for several minutes when he arrived at work Thursday morning. This was his life now, although he hadn't really expected it to come so soon. He wondered if he were ready, but then shook his head at his own foolishness and started up the pavement, sensing the wards shift to welcome him. He was ready. He felt as if his whole life had been preparing him for this job. He didn't know whether it would be the job he'd retire from a century from now -- he hadn't forgotten his other ambitions -- but at the moment, it was the job he wanted and a project he believed in.
Pulling his wand, he Unsealed the front door and walked in. "The director is in, he muttered to himself, feeling a bit silly, but it seemed like a should say something to mark the occasion even if it were only to himself. He had his lunch in a bag, Pallas on his shoulder to carry letters -- he was going to have to get a second owl so he didn't wear her out -- and his ever-present laptop.
He was ready to go to work.
