Summary: Jeff finds Cedric gone from the cottage and goes looking for him at the bookshop; he finds someone else.

Gone again. That boy wouldn't stay put unless he was nailed to the floor. Jeff had returned from making purchases as the apothecary and picking up some other items around town, only to find the cottage empty. That had happened the day before, as well. He'd been gone no more than a couple hours, only to come back and find Cedric up at the Bookworm, drawing on the kitchen floor.
Not that Cedric had ever been particularly good at staying still unless he was sitting in front of a computer screen or had a book, but he couldn't even stay down when he was recovering. Blowing out, Jeff headed up to the shop to see if Cedric was orbiting Hermione again.
When he entered, the shop itself was empty except for the dull and distant boom-boom of the press in the basement, and the presence of Hermione herself at the counter. No Cedric in sight.
Coming through into the shop from the rear, he asked her, "Have you seen Cedric?" without preamble.
