A crossover, as cobbled together via a few itsproductivity prompts: In which I compare timelines and realise there has to be a Meeting of the Boy Geniuses. ( Business as Usual )
I didn't realize I was dying to see this until I read the Fandom line, but yes! This would so happen.
I really liked this a lot. You hit all the good spots. The allusion to Obie as well was handled very smoothly. I snickered quite a bit at the Windows reference.
I didn't realise it Had To Be Written until a few days ago, myself, but once I put the timelines next to each other in my head, there was absolutely no stopping it. XD I'm glad you enjoyed it; it was hard balancing what the guys found with leaving room for the movie events to eventually happen, but that was as much part of making this work as 'wtf Windows?' (which might be my favorite bit).
It is a bit painful, but if I let the guys find much more than that, Tony would be far less likely to end up with the Flying Metal Suit of Awesome. (Still, given their canon luck, they had to find something a lot more Chinese-curse interesting than they were expecting. XD) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Timeline comparison! I got to thinking about it (taking the year Sneakers was filmed as the year it happened, and using a timeline concocted for RPing, for Iron Man), and I realised that with those particular dates the Boy Genius characters would be the same age. From there, it had to happen, and the rest kind of fell into place.
SWEET. I haven't even seen "Sneakers," and I got a total sense of the characters and everything from this. Nicely done. LOL @ "Windows?" and the HAL reference. HEE.
::grins:: Thanks. I maintain that pre-Jarvis!Tony would totally get called on not making his own damn computer system, when he's fully capable - and that he'd keep HAL in mind as an example of what not to do, when he did make it. (I highly recommend Sneakers; it's a lovely early-'90s Fun With Technology sort of film. Horribly dated technologically and politically, but miles ahead of its time philosophically.)
