all we need is a little bit of momentum. [martel, bobby]

Maria is so glad Clarissa has Things to do that evening; she cajoles her guardian into saying she can have not one but two boys over, and is pretty sure the main reason she gets her way is Clarissa suspects it's actually likely Maria will get into less trouble with these particular boys than she would on her own ( Read more... )

After setting up a payment plan with the twins to make sure that Hurley gets fed and walked at decent intervals (fed by Avery and walked by Vince because, as Bobby has learned in the past, the two need to be given their own, specific tasks or else they'll "forget" to do things because they "thought he did it"), Bobby makes his way over to Maria's. He decides to skate the distance just because it's not that far and he's been getting kind of stir crazy. Plus they haven't lived here long enough for his dad to let him use public transportation if their driver's available (but he's allowed to walk? no, he doesn't get the logic there, either) and Bobby hasn't gotten to go skating nearly enough in the last month and a half ( ... )

Maria is, blessedly, not doing anything inappropriate to...or...for (agh) Martel right when Bobby arrives; instead, she's arranging shotglasses on top of the glass tabletop. When she spots him, she promptly launches herself at him in what is possibly the most inappropriate hug she can feasibly manage. Please don't wrap yourself around the boy, Maria, he's probably not prepared for your psychosis...though at least he and Martel are better-versed in girl-crazy, and Maria's special brand.

"Bobby!"

She is currently barefoot and dressed in what appears to be a...slip, except with a red ribbon tied around her neck. Which is kind of weird of her. This is, in Marialand, ideal mini-mini-party clothing.

For his part, Martel is lazing around on the sofa. He is, of course, extremely relaxed, aside from the attempts to kill her creepy neighbor with the power of his irritation. (One day he's going to figure out how to do that and you should all be very afraid. Very, very afraid.)

"Hello," he says, from his vantage point there.

"Uff" is, of course, the only logical response to having a Maria come flying in your direction. Also, dropping his skateboard behind himself the instant he registers her intent to hug is Bobby's best plan for avoiding injury. Which is of course only avoiding injury if he manages not to step backwards onto said skateboard. Luckily, there will be no falling over and breaking things. Yet. Is he practiced in receiving this sort of welcome? Quite possibly.

"Hi." Excuse him while he takes a moment to bite his tongue on that ambiguous comment on the nice view. Um. Instead he will be completely straight-faced and serious long enough to say, "I am in serious need of copious amounts of alcohol. Can you provide?"
