Maria is so glad Clarissa has Things to do that evening; she cajoles her guardian into saying she can have not one but two boys over, and is pretty sure the main reason she gets her way is Clarissa suspects it's actually likely Maria will get into less trouble with these particular boys than she would on her own.
She will refrain from thinking about that one any harder than she has to for now.
The residence is on the top floor. Bobby can buzz his way up, and Maria will leave the door unlocked for his sake (it might be risky, but c'mon, it's not like this is the hood). When he gets in, he will find that Martel is already there, and also that Maria is the sort of girl who leaves the blinds open on the windows even at night, even though all the lights are on. It's sort of like grand central inside the apartment this evening, but no one except her creepy voyeur neighbor can see them, anyhow.
