Oh mi gosh! Ren will delicately step (read: dance as light as the breeze) and try to step over/around the new girl. Will he make it or will he be distracted by the book and almost wipe out?

Who knows! The new girl, however, is alerted to the presence of someone else. She opens one eye, then the other, and eyes Ren mildly for a moment. "Coulda just told me to move," she drawls. Extremely Southernly. That will not go away, unfortunately.

"I didn't want to interrupt." Her sitting. Clearly, Ren is full of delicious, low-fat logic. Tragically, it is not Earth Logic.

"...but I'm interrupting now, aren't I?"

"Looks like," she agrees, amiably enough, tilting her head up to squint up at the clock nearby. It's not time to go to her next class yet, but when she goes, she'll give herself a couple extra minutes to spare.

Also, she curls her legs in toward herself so there's room for him to walk. Belatedly. Good job, Miss Manners.

Oooh, book.

Ben is the nosiest person on the planet (or possibly only the second nosiest, now he and Vic have met). Therefore it is entirely necessary to his survival that he pauses and leeaans over, very quietly, to see what book that is and what all that writing is in the margin. The girl looks asleep; surely she won't mind.

The girl is, alas, less asleep than she looks. Once Ben gets close enough, the book snaps shut thanks to her quick hands, much louder than is really polite, and the girl in question is eying him a little bit balefully. She doesn't say anything, though, which is...weird of her.

The sharp sound of the book slamming shut makes Ben flinch, and he rocks back sheepishly on his heels. "Sorry," he ventures cautiously. "I was just curious what you were reading."

She wordlessly flips the book around to display its cover to him: The Dispossessed, by Ursula Le Guin.
