In case the following 21 avatars weren't a dead giveaway, I love Rizzoli & Isles. It's my new favourite fandom. I've watched the first 8 episodes in the space of a week and I'm hooked. I want to make music videos, art and all that fandom stuff, it's just that awesome. I'm one of these people who totally SHIPS their friendSHIP like crazy but I don't

I just finished reading The Surgeon, it's not bad but there's no Maura and the characters are pretty much unrecognisable from those in the show. I think they've taken the names, the premise and some vague details for the TV and that's about it. Much prefer the show - for its humour and fabulous chemistry (I try not to think about the plotting and overall writing) - to the novels. I have a feeling that the novels will rate an absolute ZERO on subtext as well ;-)

I'm about halfway through The Surgeon. I think it's interesting to see the build-up to Jane's first attack by Hoyt and more of the back story but I gotta admit, I'm waiting on the humour, wondering who Thomas Moore is and then a bit sad inside as I realise there's no Maura in there anywhere. Rizzoli&Isles. RizzoliwithoutIsles. Doesn't the latter just sound wrong? :)
AND yay for us stuck on the far side of the pond! :-)Where on this lonely rock are you? I'm down in Hampshire. I noticed on Twitter earlier everyone reporting that it was Monday and wishing eachother Happy Rizzoli & Isles day. Is Tuesday Rizzoli&Isles day for you too? Waiting a whole extra 12 hours for a nice American to upload it to a host site is agony and I have to avoid Facebook, Twitter and Livejournal just in case I ruin it for myself xD

Hey you never know what'd happen if you asked nicely *g* Sadly, I don't have legs like Ms Harmon!
I did kinda like The Surgeon, I got through it quickly enough which is usually a good sign but then I didn't rush off to read The Apprentice so I guess the characters didn't hook me completely. I wasn't actually mad keen on Rizzoli in the book. I don't think she's supposed to be entirely sympathetic but she was one big walking cliche really (sole woman in the department with the HUGE chip on her shoulder) and entirely lacking in humour. I know it's all about death and murder and general nastiness but still crack a smile once in a while! I'm a paramedic, so hang around with the police a lot on jobs and one thing is absolutely certain they're as bad as us for black humour!
RizzoliwithoutIsles. Doesn't the latter just sound wrong? :)Oh dear yes. But I suspect that anyone expecting subtext from the novels is going to be sorely ( ... )

I hear you on the spoilers, SpoilerTV is one of the first sites I visit daily. It hasn't been too heavy on the spoilers for R&I so maybe that's why I'm enjoying it so much.
And... wow. You're a paramedic? That's pretty cool! I wanted to be a paramedic/ambulance technician but for some reason I did music at college and physical illness meant my science grade wound up as a D. Oops ^^
We should definitely sort some kind of thread for people catching up from this side of the pond. I'm waiting to hear if any of the TV channels pick R&I up to air... by the time it gets here officially, we'll be so far ahead :)
Mind if I add you as a friend on here? You seem cool :)
