"Is this from the dead people fridge?"

In case the following 21 avatars weren't a dead giveaway, I love Rizzoli & Isles. It's my new favourite fandom. I've watched the first 8 episodes in the space of a week and I'm hooked. I want to make music videos, art and all that fandom stuff, it's just that awesome. I'm one of these people who totally SHIPS their friendSHIP like crazy but I don't ( Read more... )

I LOVED the softball scenes. What I wouldn't give for replicas of the shirt and hat Jane and Korsak wore!

Hey you never know what'd happen if you asked nicely *g* Sadly, I don't have legs like Ms Harmon!

I did kinda like The Surgeon, I got through it quickly enough which is usually a good sign but then I didn't rush off to read The Apprentice so I guess the characters didn't hook me completely. I wasn't actually mad keen on Rizzoli in the book. I don't think she's supposed to be entirely sympathetic but she was one big walking cliche really (sole woman in the department with the HUGE chip on her shoulder) and entirely lacking in humour. I know it's all about death and murder and general nastiness but still crack a smile once in a while! I'm a paramedic, so hang around with the police a lot on jobs and one thing is absolutely certain they're as bad as us for black humour!

RizzoliwithoutIsles. Doesn't the latter just sound wrong? :)

Oh dear yes. But I suspect that anyone expecting subtext from the novels is going to be sorely disappointed. Maybe it's safer sticking with fic.

Where on this lonely rock are you?

Heh. Oop north in Stockport (which is near Manchester.) I've only just woken up (night shift last night) but I've got the ep ready to watch! I'm quite open to spoilerage (actually I'm a complete spoiler whore really) but I don't know a thing about this one because work outlaw all links to any networking sites so I couldn't access twitter or myface or lj last night. We should have some kind of thread for those of us who can't live-watch with the good folks in the USA!

I see what you mean about the book - I keep waiting for fun, baseball-playing, beer drinking Jane to come out but it's all super-angry Rizzoli.

I hear you on the spoilers, SpoilerTV is one of the first sites I visit daily. It hasn't been too heavy on the spoilers for R&I so maybe that's why I'm enjoying it so much.

And... wow. You're a paramedic? That's pretty cool! I wanted to be a paramedic/ambulance technician but for some reason I did music at college and physical illness meant my science grade wound up as a D. Oops ^^

We should definitely sort some kind of thread for people catching up from this side of the pond. I'm waiting to hear if any of the TV channels pick R&I up to air... by the time it gets here officially, we'll be so far ahead :)

Mind if I add you as a friend on here? You seem cool :)

Oh too right. I think the show took characters and vague premise and that was about all. Which is fine by me although, personally, I'd have changed the name "Rizzoli" because it sounds like a pasta dish and makes me hungry *g*

I go here for spoilers as well: http://www.tnt.tv/series/rizzoliandisles/ They have a sneak peek of the finale (which is actually a pretty dull scene!) but no trailer. I've managed to time a week's holiday incredibly badly and will actually miss the damn finale! Still, a week in the sun does sound nice :-)

*laughs* It didn't feel cool at 3 this morning when I was squished into a chair on station trying to shut my eyes for five minutes before we got another call out. But, as a job, it definitely has it moments and it's far better than being behind a desk.

Yeah. I don't bother with Sky, not much point when you have a decent broadband connection! I reckon one of the channels - Alibi, Living, Five etc will pick it up eventually (maybe even more likely now it's got a second season guaranteed.) Meanwhile, have to keep an eye out for the S1 dvd release to see if it's got any decent extras on it - from various promo pics it seems there were a lot of scenes that never made it into the final cut so hopefully they'll end up on the dvd set.

Heh, go for it. I've added you... in amongst all the Sarah Connor fic and fandom there are be a few flocked posts that might make you regret that D grade a little less ;-)
