Tumblr is...not so bad. It works a lot like livejournal, the people you 'follow' is pretty much your 'friends page', and that's all there is to the interaction with others, so it doesn't take a lot of effort. One could check it about once a week and be perfectly happy. But I'm not finding it as user friendly as I was expecting. It's taken me a bit to navigate around all of the separate sections for one's own stuff, and the stuff one follows, and yet another section for the actual tumblr that appears as people see it. Eh, but it isn't so bad.
I need to move over there. I am like you and hate having too many online accounts. There is too much work in the real world to do and not enough time to devote to the online world.
I think this is why people have interns and "social media assistants".
