Oh. Uhm. Thank you, I think, and sorry... (See, what happened was, I was thinking about canon, and about how Akari is just the Token Girl™, and there's no way in hell she would ever get Hikaru to marry her, despite being head over heels in love with him, because it's so obvious Hikaru's emotional focus is Akira. And then I thought, hang on, what would happen if they did marry..? And I kinda think this is it.)

Ahem. Anyway. Siden du synes den er bra, så får jeg vel linke til den, da, sånn at andre kan lese den.
Given parental expectations that children will marry, and the longstanding custom of arranged marriage, I've often thought that a "duty" marriage is the most likely outcome for Shindou. Your story does a great (and depressing) job of showing what this situation would probably be like for the wife. Well done!
Thank you very much for this comment, it made me read up on arranged marriage customs in Japan, and various other related sociological themes, so you've been the catalyst for a very interesting and educational evening's reading! And I'm very glad you liked the story. ^^
I agree, I don't want this ending for them, either. ^^ They deserve better. Thank you for the compliments, I'm glad you thought the story was well-written.

I was going to mock you mercilessly for your unwanted bunnies, but now I'm just sad.

The good kind of sad, or the "holy hell, this fic is pathetically bad" sad?
