Annoyed and Stressed

Okay, I understand I probably should've asked her sooner, but I'm beginning to get really annoyed since I already sent her TWO emails asking for permission to use non-.edu sites on my HSM paper. I really want to use them, because one has the director specfically stating that they specifically chose "not to define" Ryan Evans's character, and how no ( Read more... )

Well, if you're interested in my thoughts about all the gay in HSM...

1. Something I love about Ryan is yes, they make him pretty stereotypical (the clothes, the mannerisms, theater, dancing, yoga, the fact that he's a Mama's boy) though I'd argue that they do that do make the audience get it but they also break that stereotype by making him absolutely awesome at baseball. It completely fleshed out his character and made him so much more real, and he's really the only three dimensional character in the whole trilogy ( ... )

Megan, Megan, Zeke doesn't actually like Sharpay! He obssesses over her to hide the fact that he's really in love with Jason.

I know I'm not the only Zeke/Jason shipper out there.

XDXDXDXD Well, the two boys are often off alone together. It's almost like Seamus and Dean from Harry Potter, never the couple in the front of the mind, but when pairing people off those two are often left over....

it is not like that! they are as canon as Chad and Ryan!

(sorry this reply is so late...I did get to use the net @ France, but the French keyboards are arranged differently and I wasn't about to do more than a twitter a day on that, so I didn't bother replying until I got home.)

XD Sorry...

Twitter? Am I reading into that or does that mean you have a Twitter? And if you do, am I following you on that? Because I don't think I am...

And I have heard and seen pictures of various European keyboards (even IRISH ones are spaced out differently and confusingly...), so I don't blame you..

Yes! Foreign keyboards...so frustrating and odd (and sorta cool at the same time...if just for the fact that they are different). You would think they would be one of those universal things--at least in countries that use the same alphabet...

Cool! I'm "roseofdusk", and now following you!! :D

I suppose I could also just organize it by a summary of the movies in one paragraph (it's not like they are complicated plots after all...), then do the metaphorical or scenes that aren't gay but have gay subtext (like the song "Breaking Free" basically being a coming out song), and Troy's confrontations with his dad and his team and the struggle of being a boy who likes to sing and do sports. Then I could focus in on how Chad, although not outright obvious, exhibits a lot of characteristics that could lead us to interpret him as gay. Despite having a 'girlfriend', the relationship seems to be more based on convienience than anything else, his extreme jealousy over Troy's relationship with Gabriella throughout all the movies, he rarely makes a move or does anything without Troy's approval (unless it's about Troy) except when he chooses to dance in the talent show int he second movie, and his speech to Troy about the girl after High School (which also goes to show how much he cares about Taylor). Finally, I would focus in on Ryan, and ( ... )

Sounds like a good plan. :)

Taylor never does seem that interested in Chad. I mean, she puts up with his lack of attention to her, and why is that? ;) Also? Pairing up the gayest characters and trying to make it seem like they have believable straight relationships so does not work. Zanna Don't universe! I'm telling you! ;)

xoxox!

Exactly! And especially after all her bashing of Troy and the dangers of sportaholic meatheads to Gabriella, to turn around and be totally okay with dating an even bigger jock than Troy? It just doesn't make sense. And then her sister's many boy rules? I'm willing to bet Chad would break 10x as many as whatever Troy does. It really seems like a relationship of convienience. Their best friends are dating, they aren't interested in anyone, but they need someone to hang out with when their friends are getting all gooey-eyed. And I seriously doubt Taylor would take someone acting so uninterested and immature dating her if she thought the relationship was going anywhere or had a future.

What is Zanna Don't, by the way?

And there you have how Boy Disease came to be. XD

Man, do I need to write some Taylor/Kelsi slash.

Zanna Don't! :)
