*Spoiler Warning(for anyone who hasn't seen it) *****
While I think the point of the movie was for it to not make sense(missing scene.. *HOUSE ON FIRE!*), Rodriguez has already done a set of vampire movies(from dusk till dawn) which closely resemble the plot of Planet Terror, so I would have liked to have seen him do something a little more original.
Death Proof was VERY Tarantino-esque(I can't believe this is actually a term used in the movie industry now..), especially the conversation the girls are having at the diner. I could see Quentin reciting the dialog as it was happening. It was oozing with Tarantino-ness.
nobody here wants to see grindhouse with me...maybe you should come down and we can go see it. i just dont understand how people can say it's going to suck.
Well, see that's the point though. It's supposed to suck.
I'm glad none of the people you know are going to see it because it sucks. That just means they have no idea what the genre of "grindhouse" is and wouldn't appreciate the movie anyway.
i understand that it's not supposed to be some crazy cool movie that everybody wants to see time and time again. but i wish that some of my friends could appreciate the style.
Well I think actually the whole point of the movie is for it to be "cool" or "badass" if you prefer, and I think it really has replay quality. It's just not Pay it Forward you know(although technically the zombies in Planet Terror pay it forward..)? It doesn't have any sort of value beyond just being "badass". On the other hand, if your friends like other movies that they say are "badass" it's probably a movie like Turistas, and this is not Turistas, you know?
