“So, Yunho-sshi,” Jaejoong began with a smile after Junsu got them introduced and stated to him their reason for being there. “What do you have in mind?”
Something that involves taking you out to dinner. The photographer slyly thought in his head but he’d rather swim in the sewers than to say that out loud.
Yunho cleared his throat and answered. “A novel, I think. I know my niece loves reading romance novels.”
“Ah…,” the bookstore manager exclaimed as he clapped his hands together. “Let me see first.”
Jaejoong headed towards the bookshelves. Junsu and Yunho followed him. The manager surveyed the collections of books from the romance section. His slender hand was moving all over the spines, as if trying to know their content just by touching them. But being the manager of a place like this, he probably already read most of the books here thought Yunho.
“Ah!” Jaejoong exclaimed. He picked out a small paperback book with a white-colored cover and handed it to Yunho. “How about this?”
“Me and Mr. Darcy” Yunho read the title aloud.
“Yeah. It’s a good story but I think you need to know the English classics first to appreciate it.”
Yunho scrunched up his nose and looked uncertain. “English classics? Oh, though I don’t think my niece is a fan of that.”
He handed the book back. The gorgeous manager took it and placed it back on the shelf. He moved a little farther and took out two paperbacks. Jaejoong went back to them and handed both books to Yunho. The latter took a closer look at them, one has a dog in a backyard as the cover and another has a couple kissing passionately in the rain on the cover.
“’The Choice’ and ‘The Notebook’?” Yunho read with heavily accented English.
Jaejoong beamed at him. “Yes, both by Nicholas Sparks. He’s a very good writer. All his works, may it be tragic or happy ending, are all great love stories.”
Can we also have a great love story of our own? Yunho can’t help but think.
“Wow! Nicholas Sparks?” Junsu interjected with an impeccable accent of his own. He took the two books from Yunho and held it in front of his face. “Yah, Jaejoong-hyung, isn’t he the one who also wrote ‘A Walk to Remember’?”
The manager chuckled at his friend’s effort of speaking in English. “Yes. He wrote that too.”
“I knew it!” Junsu squeaked. “I saw the movie version of it with Mandy Moore. I love that movie.”
“Yah, didn’t you cry watching that movie?” Yunho asked with a grin.
The youngest pouted. “Yah, it was one time,” he said through gritted teeth.
Jaejoong chuckled-of which the photographer found adorable. “Make that two or, I guess, three. You watched it with me one time then another time with Yoochun. You cried both times.”
Junsu blew a puff of air out of his mouth and glared at his chuckling hyungs. “Fine, fine. I cried a few times. Happy? Now, Yunho-hyung, are you gonna take that or what?” he asked impatiently.
Yunho stopped laughing and nodded. Turning to the stunningly beautiful creature in front of him, he said, “Jaejoong-sshi-his lips tingled with the mention of that name-“I’ll take both of these.”
“Great then!”
Jaejoong led them towards the cashier and Yunho paid for the books. The latter tried, as he had earlier when Jaejoong handed him the books, to have a little touch of the manager’s slim and soft-looking hands when he handed him the money but with no luck. It was like the hands were eluding him.
“There, Yunho-sshi. I hope your niece likes them,” the manager said with a sweet smile that captured the photographer’s heart again for the millionth time.
Yunho charmingly smiled back. “I hope so too. Thanks for your help.”
“Yeah, thanks hyung!” Junsu added.
“It was my pleasure.”
“Yah, Yunho-hyung.” Junsu said. “We need to get going. It looks like it will rain soon.”
“Uh… sure,” the photographer answered while still looking at Jaejoong.
“Bye, hyung! Thanks again.”
Junsu waved goodbye to Jaejoong and headed out of the bookstore with Yunho following slowly behind him. The photographer gave a wave too and smiled a hopeful smile. Jaejoong waved back and watched as they disappeared into a corner.
He smiled to himself as the guy’s smile appeared again in his mind. “He sure has an attractive smile.”

“Yah, so that’s the friend you’re talking about?” Yunho inquired as soon as they got inside his Saturn.
“Yeap.” Junsu nodded. “He’s the one.”
“So why are you trying to set him up, huh?” The photographer couldn’t help but asked. He hoped, though, that he did not sound that eager.
Junsu just shrugged. “Hyung has… well, uhm, he looked after me when we were young so I guess I sorta owe him a favor… I just want him to be happy, you know. And I want a guy that I’m sure won’t break his heart again,” he finished with a sad tone.
Yunho fought the urge to ask for more details about the matter. Even if he wanted to know who had hurt his precious and lovely Kim Jaejoong, he couldn’t bring himself to ask. It was still too early and he was scared that Junsu might get a whiff of what he’s thinking.
“Oh,” he just said.
“Yeah. After hyung’s last relationship he kinda stopped seeing anyone. I guess he got scared. But I can still see he’s lonely and he needs someone.”
“Uhm… who do you have in mind for your friend?” Yunho asked, tryng to act as if this was just a simple question and that the answer didn’t really matter to him. Please say me, please say me, he uttered hopefully in his mind.
“Hmm, I don’t know yet.”
Thud! The little image of himself dancing hopefully in his head has tripped and fell. But Yunho tried his best to act like he really didn’t care at all. He failed miserably because his facial expression showed it all. The writer, fortunately, didn’t notice it.
What the hell, Kim Junsu? Yunho thought. I’m right here! How can you not know anyone good enough for your hyung, huh? The photographer cleared his throat and shoved those thoughts onto the back of his mind. “Oh, I see. Well, just look closer. You’ll see someone soon.”
Junsu rested his hands and head down on the dashboard. “Yeah. Thanks. But I think I have to look for someone for me first before that… Aigoo!”
