Friday came. The day Kim Junsu had been dreading waiting for, as he told himself over and over again.
Junsu looked at himself in the mirror. He was wearing black denim jeans, a gray shirt under a trendy black jacket and his pair of dark blue converse shoes. It was really casual since Changmin had said on the phone that he should just wear something casual.
Junsu wasn’t sure where exactly they were going (Changmin had suggested a lot of things so he didn’t know which one of them it will be) and he sure as hell felt uncomfortable wearing only this to a date.
“Oh, whatever!” the writer said to his reflection. “I’m already perfect so I look good in anything.”
He looked at his clock. 7:59. Changmin was to pick him up at 8.
Experience had told Junsu that the guy would probably come around 8:30 or around 9pm. So he still had plenty of time to wallow in his misery of using a guy that actually liked him for his own cruel intention.
A car honked in front of his apartment. Junsu stood up, confused. It was exactly 8pm.
That couldn’t be Changmin, could it?
He walked towards the window and peeped out. He saw a silver Lexus parked outside. The person at the driver seat was unmistakable. It was Shim Changmin-his hair and nose gave him away.
“Omo!” Junsu exclaimed in disbelief. “He’s here? Already? Weird…”
He shook his head lightly and got out of his apartment, all the while repeating something in his head over and over again like it was some kind of mantra.
I like Shim Changmin… There’s a spark…There’s a spark… I like Shim Changmin… There’s a spark… There’s a spark…

“So, Changmin-sshi, why here?” Junsu asked as they walked through the park.
“Well, I thought it would be a nice change from those five-star restaurants, crowded theaters and things like that. Besides, I figured, if we have a date here, then we could talk more and I could get to know more about you.”
Try to blush, Kim Junsu. Try to blush! “O-oh, I see.” The writer said uncertainly without that blush he was forcing himself to produce.
Junsu went silent and the two walked on.
Changmin’s right though, Junsu thought.
The night sky hung above them peacefully and the air around them was cool and calming. There were not much people here. No hassle. No noises. Only their footsteps crunching against the concrete ground and the occasional chirp of the crickets were the sounds that can be heard.
“Junsu-sshi, let’s go there,’ Changmin said as he held onto Junsu’s hand and dragged him gently towards the pond.
The writer squeezed the tall man’s hand. It was soft but nothing more. He certainly did not feel anything whenever their skins grazed against each other.
“Junsu-sshi,” Changmin called again, fishing Junsu away from his thoughts. The latter looked up at him and saw the tall man pointing at something. “Look.”
Junsu shifted his gaze towards the dark lake. He could see a bunch of ducks swimming and frolicking in the water.
“Uhm, ducks?”
Changmin nodded. “Yeap. They actually reminded me of you.”
“Bwo? How?”
The tall man grinned. “Simple. Duckbutt.”
Junsu scowled at him. “Yah! Very funny. I know my butt is big but you didn’t have to remind me,” he said, feigning annoyance.
Changmin chuckled and squeezed the writer’s hand. “I know. I know. That was actually half of the reason why they reminded me of you though,” he said seriously.
“What’s the other half?”
“It’s cold right? Surely the water’s also cold. But the ducks still swim in it. They endure the cold and try to make the best of it. It’s just like how I see you, Junsu-sshi. I see you as someone who endures in this harsh world. Yunho-hyung had told me a lot about you. He said life has thrown many challenges at you but you still endured and made the best things out of them. It’s really admirable.”
Junsu smiled weakly at the younger man’s comment. He was flattered but the look on Changmin’s face was bothering him. He seemed like he really looked up to him and, possibly, admired him that much.
If only you knew… “Changmin-sshi,” Junsu began. “I’m very flattered by that. Thanks.”
Changmin smiled at him. “It was no problem… Are you hungry, Junsu-sshi? I know a stand nearby that serves great ramen.”
“Sure.”

Yoochun slumped more on the bench. He was there at the park to think, to clear his head. But, so far, it wasn’t working.
Should I tell him? What if he doesn’t feel the same way I’m feeling? I don’t think I can stand him rejecting me.
His mind was still bombarded with a lot of problematic thoughts.
Yoochun had already been there for more than an hour and his mind was absolutely not cleared yet. Heaving out a sigh, he stood up and decided to just go home.
Yoochun placed his hands in his pocket and started walking. He hadn’t made it far away from the bench where he was earlier when he heard that familiar high pitched voice. Yoochun turned around and, as expected, saw Junsu… Only, he was with another man. They were walking, hands joined together and muttering what sounded like sweet nothings to each other’s ear.
Yoochun’s heart shattered instantly. His eyes glinted with the emotion swirling inside him.
It was at that moment Park Yoochun had decided enough was enough.
