An Open Letter to John Edwards from Ms. StickyKeys
Ramblings from a broken heart

Dearest John,

Way to break my heart John Edwards! I mean, COME ON! Look, I know you're pretty, and you have "needs" [/eyeroll of INTENSE sarcasm], but you know when you absolutely don't cheat on your wife? WHEN SHE'S BELOVED BY THE COUNTRY AND DEALING WITH CANCER ( Read more... )

:::::throwing a penalty flag, blowing the whistle:::::

Roughing the adulterer!!!!!

He didn't LEAVE his wife who was battling cancer, he simply sought outside "counsel" to help deal with the situation. I don't think he should be judged so harshly.

in terms of the heart "leaving" is semantical at best. if he wanted to seek outside counsel he should have had informed consent from the effected party. I'm actually pretty certain she would havegiven it too. you don't always have to resort to cheating. plus this wasn't a one night stand, it was a premditated affair and that's an animal of another coat entirely ;-)

In a lot of ways I'd imagine that a steady affair with one woman would be more hurtful than a one night stand or even a string of one night stands. Basically the man just signed himself up for another commitment, and (polygamy/swingers notwithstanding) that would offend and crush my senses. Like what was I lacking so much that you couldn't even come to me about it, rather you had to go out and find another woman to provide it for you? It's supposed to be my job to keep my husband happy (and vice versa), now I feel like I've failed as a wife and I'm racking my brain trying to figure out where I went wrong or what I could have done differently. I.e, he's the one in the wrong but the blame somehow still ends up on me for not "doing my job" in the first place, and as if the internalized blame isn't enough you know there are other people out there who think like this, judging a relationship they really know nothing about. Unfair, but true ( ... )
