I told you Google was better! I love the new Google Reader, they redesigned it so it looks like Bloglines, only better. I had actually switched over to Bloglines, and I ended up switching back, because I liked Google's so much more. You can organize things with folders! So it's kind of like filtering, actually, you could set up your filters on there the same way. It's not on the mail page, true, it's a separate page, but I actually like keeping them separate; I hated how Yahoo's new mail system was - it reminded me too much of Outlook.
OK, so I just saw this link and thought of you. It tells you how to add Google Reader in with Gmail; you'd need the GreaseMonkey extension for Firefox, and then you'd have to download whatever script they're telling you to get, but Greasemonkey is pretty easy to handle (if I can do it, you can do it!)
Girl you KNOW I'm already a member of that site!@ I have it's feed in my email, I adore lifehacker though I've had to switch to the weekly roundup so I hadn't seen that site.
You know, everything the only sites that I really need to syndicate are my blogger buddies, and blogger beta (LOVE IT!) has an option to do JUST THAT! I'm very excited and of course blogger beta is Google. Those sneaky gits.
I'm going to go ahead and dl Greasemonkey though I still really don't get it. I have a few really tech saavy eljayers that I know will help me out.
Heh, I should have known you'd know about lifehacker!
Greasemonkey is easy, actually, as long as you're not actually writing scripts. You download the thing from Firefox's extension page, and on that page they have a link to a site that has a ton of scripts that you can install, complete with directions of how to install, in three easy steps (seriously, three.) I think you have to download the script, install it, and then add it and that's pretty much it. And then the next time you open up FF, it works!
Also, yes, Google is sneaky with the blogger being their's, but not being named Google blog or something. I'm liking blogger beta, too, actually.
I have been using Google Reader which is AMAZING for compiling all my blogs and ish in one place. AMAZING.
I hate that Yahoo Beta Mail. It's too much going on. I just use the regular. But I am thinking of switching to gmail my dang self. I have one and I just don't use it SUPER often, but the spam guard on there is pretty amazing too.
The thing I like about Y!Mail is that my reader is right there in my inbox. I already have enough tabs open! But I may have to get on this Google reader thing, though I think I may be able to do it through my blogger beta so we'll see.
That is one thing about gmail, the fact that it works when it wants too!
It's so good to see you lovey, how are you? Well I hope, I've been working 80+ hours a week (soon to be less thankfully) so I haven't had time to flist, but I've been thinking about you!
Mozilla crashed you? What kind of comp do you have? I demand you upgrade for Firefox! That's one thing, I have no allegiance to Microsoft. I ADORE MOZILLA! One day I'll do a post about it, heh.
gmail still has downtime issues, and I vastly prefer yahoo's e-mail alias system over gmail's (despite having to pay for it). emailias fills the gap, but it's crappy having to go to a seperate service to be able to set up disposable e-mail addresses to protect myself against spammers.
There's also something wrong with gmail's spam filter, it seems to get worse over time instead of better.
Exactly, but I like to think of that as spam getting better. I have a paid Yahoo! account too, and I LOVE IT! Except for the spam issue. I'm glad you mentioned the disposables again, those are definitely worth the price to me (I pay just $10 a year, it's supposed to be $20, but they've never charged me that and Lord knows I won't be reminding them!)
My spam is out of control, but I'm not sure how to fix it. I get a lot of emails from outsiders so I don't want to filter everything, but I've more than maxed out my 500 addresses. That would help if they allowed more.
Yahoo has been getting on my nerves lately, but I still love it. I can't help it. That's been my primary e-mail provider for almost six years, yo. I do love Google's Calendar, though.

80 hours? yikes missy! what r you trying to do, hurt yourself?
it's the gmail snafu's that keep me firmly where I am. the last time I had an inkling to try something new, mozilla, for example, my computer crashed.

I do love Yahoo! dangit. Everytime I try to let go, I keep coming back. I've been on Yahoo! since 1995, that's almost before you were born! ;-p
