i think this entry makes you a homosexuale, stickykeys.
also LOL he was NOT gettign an ulcer and that happened to be the most disturbing scene in the film for me.
it completely succeeded in getting across to the audience just how EFFED UP Ennis is. he's like totally and utterly emotionally constipated/damaged.
he wasn't trying to pop out a kidney stone. lmao
he was suffering because he basically doesn't have a way to deal w/ his emotions in a cathartic manner, you know? it was almost as if he was like totally shocked & puzzled at his own reaction and the loss he felt. dude can't even allow himself to cry for Jack.
i will always and forever remember these lines:
"i wish i knew how to quit you!"
"jack twist? jack NASTY! [i laughed so hard. so so hard. and also for some reason nobody felt any real sympathy for ennis's wife. which totally freaked me out. every time she'd come on the screen, the audience would laugh at her pain. wtf? lmao! so wrong.]
I KNOW! I was really conflicted about that because on one hand, dude, tell your husband you know, but on the other hand, stuff like that wasn't done back then you know?
Jack NASTY!!! HEE!
I thought it was just emotional pain tearing him up, but he went for the Oscar on that. I was like, "Okay... oddly timed expression of passionate emotion. Sure.
See... in the beginning I wanted them too hook up so badly. I was happy when they did but OMG! I was hiding in my coat with my jaw on the floor when I saw how roughly they went at it. I just kept thinking "OMG RAW and HARD?!?! How'd he bare it
( ... )
Her teeth were beyond scary, and they had the nerve to do the closeup!
That cracked me up when he ran out of the tent into the snow, my friend and I almost died.
Okay, the thing with Ennis is that at that time he was just such a MAN! I gave him a pass for the re-meeting because he was just so overwhelmed with emotion, what do you do? You saw him punch the crap out of that wall!
The Barebacking on Brokeback was a bit disconcerting. That cracked me up when he just spit a little in his hand and then went to town, every gay man in the audience was like "Ouch!". Shoot, I was like, "Ouch!". Ha!
Ann seemed BITTER near the end, that was weird. I liked Jack's parents, though did you get an Ace Venture vibe when the mother was all, "We kept his room like when he was a boy, do you want to see it?"
I was totally expecting a Kill Marino type room only with JACK & ENNIS 4-EVAH! all around it!
I was really upset that the father wouldn't let him fulfill Jack's last wishes.
I was ready to shake Ana Faris if she didn't SHUT UP!
Ennis' accent bothered me. I kept thinking "stop mumbling you damn Aussie!"
I was glad that Alma got remarried because Ennis' denial could have easily crushed her spirit. I LOVED the confrontation scene in the kitchen. She told him all about himself. She knew and still gave him a chance to prove her wrong, but damn he didn't do ANY fishing.
JACK NASTY! I laughed so hard! It was almost as load as I shrieked when Alma saw them kissing.
Ennis has a lot of repressed feelings... the wall... the rough fucking... the heavy makeout scene. That man needed therapy! So did everyone who's lives he touched.
OMG tell me you didn't want to cry when Jack watched Ennis drive away. Jake's eyes are so damn full of emotions. It makes me want to hold him and tell him it'll be ok.
