I created this community almost three years ago, when I was giddily in love with two young men who brought me to a team I came to love even more. I haven't really "actively participated" here I have to admit (although I do read, plenty!) but I have been around since the creation of the comm and its lovely that its still here and present. Some of these types of LJs tend to do ok for the first little while and then the novelty wears off and they fade away gradually. But not this place, this pairing.

And the little quotation of yours in the profile; perfect :) And is totally why I still ship these two and why people should continue to do so!

You've probably been reading more than me these days. *ashamed* And that's totally true! This really was the most popular pairing in fbslash back when the comm started, and I am so pleasantly surprised that it's continued to be so.

I wrote that ages and ages ago, inspired by something I'd probably read. It's definitely completely applicable to right now. :)

It hadn't really kicked until now that all the Stevie/Xabi moments will be just a memory and never repeated again. But there were many along the years, some subtle, some not so much, and I guess we'll have them in our hearts to treasure forever.
This pairing will always be a classic of football slash and I daresay it'll live on. I'm plotting more writing featuring it as we speak, and the amount of post-Xabi leaving fics have been quite respectable in number.
It is heart-breaking, in a way, I loved watching them quite a lot and I'll miss it terribly, but hey, there's a lot of material to reminisce on and there's a lot still to be created about them.
That said, I'll still be an avid Liverpool supporter, despite my fears that we'll be going through a bit of a slump this season.

i love stevie and xabi. not only their friendship, but the way they seem to find each other on the pitch. it's a shame we won't be seeing this two together any longer. i was absolutely (and still am) gutted when xabi left. I was one of the early members of this comm, but i don't really participate much nowadays because i prefer picspams or reports over fanfics~

anyway, i see some lovely icons from the members who commented above. I don't remember seeing those pictures before~ -_-; It would be wonderful if someone could do a picspam.

Oh, and also, does anyone have the video clip of Gerrard's pre-match interview (vs. Tottenham yesterday)? I missed it, but my brother told me he commented on xabi. thankss
