I remember that part of the Wil Wheaton story, but always thought it would be improper to bring it up.

Ah, I hadn't heard the "stealing his girlfriend" bit before... if I had, maybe I wouldn't have brought it up either!

I'm wondering now if I just forgot the girlfriend stealing part of the story in the past 16 years or if that part wasn't know when I first heard it as a "guess what weird thing happened just last year in what is now your freshman room" story.

Whoa, he remembers me? That's awesome/embarrassing; our conversation was totally awkward ;). I had wanted to be all charismatic, but no. Awesome that you got to meet him. Guess I need to see if the cruise makes an appearance on the show :). (So he is as uberdorky as he plays himself to be! yay!)

If you haven't seen his henchman monologue, Steuard added a link to it in the previous day's post.

He's great; I enjoyed the chance to see him perform in a wide range of ways. (And I doubt that he had a vivid memory of your time on the show.)

As for uberdorky, one bit of my conversation with him grew out of his final line when he was part of the RiffTrax show earlier in the week. The logo of the short film's production company was a really ugly, blockish black bird, and his line was, "This film brought to you by crebain from Dunland." I told him that I'd loved the line and asked whether he'd written it himself. He said that no, despite being a big Tolkien fan, he hadn't actually recognized the reference. (The crebain were the black birds spying on the Fellowship on their way to Moria.) I assured him that it was pretty obscure and I didn't think any less of his Tolkien cred for missing it. He was a really nice guy, and very clearly a geek like us.

He recently commented on Twitter that he tried to make an "X is my Y cover band" joke on the show (inspired by Paul and Storm's fun with that game on the cruise), and that it was pretty much the first thing cut during editing. Ah well.

An addition to Steuard's summary for those Jonathan Coulton/Paul & Storm fans who will understand the importance: They actually performed Big Dick Farts a Polka! Everyone was very excited :-)

Here's one video with a good angle on the performers for any of you who want to experience the majesty for yourselves.
