 So after all of that bitching I got a raise today.  A guaranteed raise of $3000 for the next 12-18 months, with bonuses quarterly based on the revenue my accounts bring in.

I guess it can't be ALL bad working here.

You're absolutely right - I should have known that anytime good befalls the account management group, it's the mark of terrible things to come.

I wish i had that same enthusiasm now...only hours after I posted this, I learned that 4 people had been "laid off" - one guy had been with the company 20-some odd years, the lady that hired me, and two close coworkers. Now it's quite bittersweet.
