Nice clothes? What are those? The closest thing I have to nice are old navy black slacks. The kind that like iron themselves as you walk. They're wrinkled as all hell in the morning, by the time I get to work, they looked like they've been pressed. Magic I tell ya, magic. Tony has some nice dress shirts, I don't know what I'll do now that I don't have a dryer a few steps away. I don't even own an iron!
Gods, laundromats! Dragging baskets, keeping the kid busy, putting stuff in machines, taking out, putting stuff in other machines. A sagging pocket of quarters. The good old days. Now I forget I have a load in the washer until someone says, "Hey, something's molding in the basement."
And ironing! My mom would dampen things and leave them in the freezer until she could get to them. Oh, she taught me how to iron: handkerchiefs and pillow cases. Wow.
One thing she didn't teach me and I'll impart to you: ironing goes much faster and is less crappy if you do it in front of the TV. I found 3 Stooges to be best, but your mileage may vary.
My Nanny (Grandma on Dad's side) taught me how to iron towels. I thought I was so helpful. I was crushed when I found out that she didn't really iron her towels, she was just being sneaky trying to teach me how to iron.
I think as long as I don't get Tony used to his clothes being pressed, we wont have a problem. I fear the day I buy an iron and start ironing for him. I don't want him to spoiled like my Papa (Nanny's husband) and expect every item of clothing to be pressed!
