No matter how sensational the writing, acting, and everything else, there is only so much melodrama that can effectively happen in the space of one episode of a television show. To build on top of that and heightening it (for which there is virtually no limit), thus, is the fandom's prerogatory.

The Sherlock tag on Tumblr is being hysterical.

All manners of spazzy reactions, crying for download links, desperation over the downloading speed.

Simply madness.

Can you blame us? After One and A Half Year of WAITING.

So yesterday the first episode of Sherlock Serie 2, 'A Scandal in Belgravia', was screened at the BFI. 
I didn't feel anxious or even envious at the news. I've waited this long, it doesn't matter that some people got to watch it a month before I do.  
But I then saw a tumblr post, and it made my eyes go almost misty O_Q.
