I fell behind during November and December and was never able to catch up. I guess real life got in the way of my reading. Still, overall I enjoyed the books on my 2007 list. I might een reread some of them :D

This morning I finished Angela's Ashes, Frank McCourt's memoir about growing up poor in Ireland. I've wanted to read this book for a while now, ever since I read his stunning Teacher Man (which I consider a staple for ever teacher's library). I just finished reading two collections of short stories. Interpreter of Maladies was a reread. I was introduced to Jhumpa Lahiri in college and I've loved her melancholy, culturally rich stories ever since.

The Glass Castle was amazing, unbelievably sad and emotional and perfect for my mood.

Give Me is a short story collection by a young Russian writer. She writes about the youth culture in Russia during the late 90s and early 00s. Lots of sex and drugs and violence and a need for love. The Turn of the Screw was really not what I expected. Not nearly as good as the other stuff I've read by James. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't enjoy it very much.
