My neck is so stiff, I can hardly move without pain. I left work early today, and I'm seriously considering seeing a doctor (my workplace wants a doctor's note even if we only stay home for a day) if it's worse tomorrow. Or the same, really. I'm applying heat with the cute cherry stone pillow that I got from _bettina_ once. It helps a bit, but only while it ( Read more... )

It's better now; I can at least look over my left shoulder again and unexpected movement (like when my spatula broke in a quite spectacular fashion while cooking and I jumped in surprise) doesn't make the pain shoot up my neck anymore.

But yay for happy things and fluffy hamsters indeed.

I hope the weather continues to be cheerful for you - how long will the walk take?

Do you suppose the weather stays cheerful for a while? Because I'll go in the first week of September. ;)

Official and unofficial websites say the trip should take six days. I'm still unsure whether I should play it safe and book all accomodations ahead or take it from day to day - which would allow me to take a day longer overall if needed. (Or a day less, but that does't seem very likely.)

Beginning of September! The most adventurous part will be whether I can walk that much without giving up halfway through. :)

I'm sorry about the neck, hope it gets better soon! *hugs*

And that sounds like an awesome holiday! Hiking isn't my thing, but walking through the UK countryside sounds awesome! :)

It is a lot better now, thanks. I can now look over my left shoulder again! ;)

Hiking is very much not my thing, either. I know I should practice and take a few day trips at least before doing nothing but for a whole week, but I'm so lazy. I do, however, think that having a clear goal in mind (reaching the west coast) will help.

I'll probably curse the trip - and myself - halfway through when I have to march twenty miles through cold and rain. ;) But I think overall it will be something I can be proud of later.

My neck's a lot better but not fully okay yet. I gues I'll have to bite the bullet and go see a doctor after all.
