"Danny," Mac says. He drops his forehead against Danny's and they stay like that for awhile, not kissing now but with their mouths still touching, sharing the same air.
So incredibly intimate, this is; it made me shiver a little. Beautiful.

I liked the way the Mac/Danny piece turned out, too, and I like those kind of unexpectedly intimate moments between two people. (They seem to happen a lot with Mac and Danny...)

I'm glad the Hawkes voice worked (it's always fun to write his explanations of things), and Mac and Danny really do both need a good hug.

He holds her to him and closes his eyes, and thinks of the mistletoe above their heads, concentrates on the feel of her in his arms and the steady beat of her heart against his chest. It's good and it's real, and he tries to memorize as many of the details as he can.
He'll remember the feel of her mouth on his; he'll remember the way the small of her back curves beneath his hand. He'll remember all of this, he tells himself; he will. He'll hold her as long as he can, and after that, he'll carry this kiss with him.
Just makes me want to hug him.
Mac/Danny I love the last line and it seems I am not the only one.
Mac/Jack I love because some how these two just have wormed there way into my brain. This time he doesn't even try to protest. He kisses Abernathy, because it's Christmas Eve and because he does know what to do with mistletoe, and because Abernathy's mouth is warm and ( ... )

I'm glad you enjoyed all the various pairings. It's interesting for me to take a character through different, but similar, situations, and see how his/her reaction changes depending on how particular details of the situation change.
