Dagnabbit! I bought myself a 8GB microSDHC card for my R4DS, only to realize that the one I got isn't compatible with microSDHC cards. Is there a firmware upgrade for it that adds microSDHC compatibility to it? Please tell me there is ( Read more... )

'Fraid not, bubs. You'll need to get a new, SDHC-compatable flash cart.

Additionally... I'd be careful about getting another R4. A lot of knockoffs have appeared, and it's hard to tell the difference between the real deal, and the phony balogna. Same with the Acekard, too. Although, I guess if you get from a trusted retailer (I'd recommend RealHotStuff or DealExtreme), you'll probably be safe.

I'm not sure if I'll get an R4DS-branded NDS flash cart... I'll probably end up getting an Acekard. But then the R4DS system is what I've been using and is what I'm used to as well, so I might just end up buying a DSi-compatible R4DS-branded flash card.

I do know of two R4DS-branded websites that exist:
* http://www.r4ultra.com/
* http://www.r4li.com/

But as it seems, when I searched for these two sites on Google, a million different R4-branded sites came up apart from these two. Something tells me that those are the fake/bad R4-clones... or these two are. What do you know?

To be honest, I really don't know a thing about those two.

I go off of what I know, and I know that the Acekard 2i is a pretty decent flash cart. It still works on DS/DS Lite, and a slot-2 expansion if you have it.

I just love being able to hack my portible gaming devices and other whatnots to be able to play emulated games. My cellphone plays NES, SNES and Genesis games, my PSP plays all manner of Game Boy and N64 games (as well as what my cellphone can play), and my DS plays... well, DS games! And best of all, it's all portible. I just can't stand not being able to play games when I want to play them.

I looooove hacking devices! And Mike is an awesome dude for doing that for you. ;)
