It's been long enough since I've done any hand-sewing, or even any serious knitting, (bad Stefka, no biscuit) that I've lost my finger calluses. I usually guide the needle, where it passes underneath the fabric, with either the index or middle finger of the left hand, alternating as suits my whim. just checking, but you know EK12th Night is moved to Jan 17?

Yup. Fortunately, ioldanach called us before we even got on the road this morning. We pouted by spending the day in bed. (We had gotten up early, after all, for the demo we did this morning. So the not-traveling was a good excuse.) We'll just do it all next Friday.
