She had a bad feeling about this, why was this guy going to talk to the doctor? Was he trying to plead the kid's case or was he just stupid? She honestly couldn't tell. He seemed to be from Allen's home, so she guessed it was more likely about Allen then not...but still.
In any case, thank god there was finally someone reasonable about being moved. Considering the fact that there had been so few that had gone remotely easy...this was a breeze in comparison. No need to speed even.
....Though she had the very strong feeling that he had hit on her at least twice since she had retrieved him.
"Head on in, Doctor Mayuri is expecting you." She said as they came up on the door.

And he had hit on her three and a half times, to be precise.
He paused at the door, giving it a look before opening it and stepping through the thresh hold. "You're not coming in?" He frowned slightly, nose scrunching faintly with the expression. After a couple of seconds, he released the door and allowed it to slowly swing shut by itself while taking a step forward, addressing Mayuri, though it was likely Daphne would have heard had she stuck around. "Sit down." It was as much cordiality as Cross was going to get. Given that there was so much work to do, it would be a while before Mayuri was in top form again; he hadn't even gotten his typical uniform back together, and looked more human than he had in a long time (despite the scars running everywhere). It was irritating. "It's not. However, Paul is busy at present, so someone else had to get you." He doubted she would have made an adequate replacement for Paul, but the thought of getting rid of ( ... )

Cross drifted on over to the indicated chair, dropping himself down in to it with ease. He had no qualms with shifting around a bit and making himself comfortable, staying silent for a passing moment as he canted his head and openly eyed the doctor right back. It was only fair, wasn't it? He could have been more discreet, however, he wasn't in the mood to dick around today. Not during this meeting.
Mayuri didn't look like much, in any case, but Cross knew better than to underestimate.
"Not what I wanted to say," he finally replied, propping his elbows on the armrests on either side of himself, threading his fingers together. "What I wanted to ask you. What do you think you know about Innocence?"

So this one really was here to talk to him about Innocence, instead of merely coming to deride him for what had happened involving the boy with the parasite. Was he here only to gather information for himself, or ... no, he wouldn't have called for a meeting if that was the case. If he was here to provide more information, it would be incredibly useful, and certainly open up new avenues of experimentation.
"What your one-eyed boy has told me," he responded, voice fairly flat. "Although it took him long enough. The types, its sentience, and now I know firsthand how dangerous it can be when in the wrong hands." He meant Allen's; Cross was inevitably going to take it as his. "Are you here to attempt to enlighten me ( ... )
