Tonight was the night she was supposed to devote to Reeve. They had agreed upon that on more than one occasion, but then his watchdog stepped in. Something was wrong, and Jinx had been told to stay twenty feet away from him at all times. Not by Reeve of course, not at all. The man himself cared for her... right? He still defended her, trusted her, he was just the king with a barrier defense of pawns. It would be easily overcome with strategy, just like everything else in this damn place. So why could she not think straight? It may have had something to do with her broken ribs, her beaten body, the medication hangover, Daphne's force feeding a few hours prior, or it may have been where she was going tonight rather than seeing her dear Reeve.

Rin's voice had called to her through the intercom and Jinx bit her lip. She was the reason talking to Matt felt awkward now. Well, maybe not the reason, but one of them. She was also the girl who kept her talking when Jinx over-medicated herself. And listening to her speak over the intercom, she ( ... )

At the first sight of the girl, Rin blinked and raised her eyebrows slightly but offered no further comment. She had the feeling that none would be appreciated, anyway, especially since if Jinx came from a world that was anywhere near what appeared to be the "standard", grey skin, slitted pink eyes, and pink hair probably caught enough negative attention all on their own. The remarks about dying her hair such outlandish colors suddenly made a little more sense - perhaps the pink was dye? But it didn't look unnatural at all ( ... )

Rin's reaction was something that came second nature to most upon seeing the sorceress. Jinx had gotten very used to it over the years. She was, after all, one of a kind, one in 6.7 billion. To all the normal humans out there, being unique was definitely not all it was cracked up to be. And speaking of those who looked of the norm, Jinx frowned to find nothing very astonishing about the girl before her. Japanese, mildly attractive, but nothing all that special. Sighing, she entered the room and half closed the door behind her. Maybe Matt was like everyone else ( ... )

"Therapy happened to him, naturally..." Rin folded her hands neatly in her lap and gazed, apparently tranquil, at Jinx. She'd keep her emotions, and personal information, strictly under wraps until she had a better picture of what Jinx was like and exactly how trustworthy she was. Already, she doubted this would be a friendship; more like a business partnership, if anything came of it at all ( ... )

"Therapy..." Jinx repeated to herself, placing a finger over her lips. She tapped it a few times, observing the boy in the bed. Was this what Reeve was like coming out of the therapy where they burned his arms? How could they call it such a thing? This was more along the lines of torture, if anything. When Rin implied that it could have been worse, Jinx felt her curiosity growing. Her own first therapy had been Trauma stirring up unwanted memories, then she proceeded to beat on him until pulled away by the cowboy. InterestingInteresting still as she noticed the girl's evasive behavior toward her second question. With her even gaze, she wondered what she was keeping inside of her. Maybe this one was not so plain after all. Especially when Jinx found her previous assumptions to be very wrong ( ... )
