Cheap watches!
eBay seems to have a surfeit of a particular type of very steamy watch, from various sellers, available in bronze and silver.

The gears are fully visible on the back! It's sort of marble-like and spherical, which means the glass creates some odd magnifying effects.
They're available for about ten dollars with shipping, and I think they're very nice. I've ordered one, which will be arriving in two weeks or more. If the good people of this comm would like, I'll be sure to tell you whether the quality is actually any good. But I figured I'd tell you now, because:
a) I'm quite forgetful, and might be so enchanted with my watch that the thought of telling you folks will slip my mind.
b) I'm not sure they won't run out by then.
