But are you able? My boyfriend is unable to grow sideburns. He has large missing patches by his ears (and he has no patience to wait for them to grow over the bare spots).

Myself as well! T'is a sad situation. Fortunately, because I'm so young, my facial hair is still working on getting out onto my face - in fact, my proto-mustache is beginning to sloooowly fill in.
